Prawn Mee

This prawn mee stall is my kid's favorite stall for lunch (before go for tuition class on Sat), this coffee shop ( Pin Chou Penang) is located nearby the Parkson Klang. To get a nice and "kou" soup, you must add in the sambal paste into the soup.

Cream, for cream puff

After I successfully baking cream puff, my kids keep asking me to bake more for them nowadays. And I just found a new easy way (Taukeh Soh of a bakery shop taught me) to prepare the cream for the cream puff. Just buy a packet of instant custard, mix 50gm of instant custard powder and 100ml of drinking water, stir well and serve. Simple and cheap.

Laminate flooring

Recently, i just changed all bedrooms flooring from ceramic tiles to laminate flooring. I use the "Inovar" floor as it is highly recommended by few of my friends, they said it is durable, water and scratch resistance and dust-mites free. You feel warm when touching on the laminate flooring unlike ceramic tiles which you feel cold, furthermore it look so modern and beautiful.

Frozen Breaded Fish

I bought this frozen breaded fish from the nearby wet market, this is something new to be found in wet market. The hawker said this is come from Sabah and the name of the fish is " red fish". Few aunties keep saying that they have tried it and it taste good. So I bought a packet to try. The step is simple, just take out from freezer and straight away deep fried it, serve hot with chili sauce.

Indian Rojak, Rojak Klang Gani

This is my favorite Rojak stall in Klang. I heard this stall have been operating about 60 years in Klang. It located at the Emporium makan building. The shop is only open in the evening from 4.30pm till night. There is always a long queue, especially after office hours. Rojak served here is fresh and hot, fritters and tofu are fried and served on the spot. I especially love the sotong served here.
You should not missed it when you in Klang.

Terengganu, Final Part, Sata

This is another traditional food you may found in Terengganu, Sata.

Sata is made by pounding together fish meat , grated coconut and herbs. It then wrapped in banana leaf and grilled over a charcoal fire, very similar to otak-otak.

I managed to take few photos on how the owner process the Sata. But I forgot to take the actual appearance after opened the leaf, rushing to eat...

The taste was very nice and price is cheap too (RM1 for 3pcs) ..You should try this when you have chance to visit Terengganu.

Terengganu, Part 4, Tasik Kenyir

Beside enjoy and relax at the beach and swimming pool at Awana Kijal, we decided to see around and we went to Tasik Kenyir. Tasik Kenyir is the largest man-made lake in South East Asia. The journey from hotel to Tasik Kenyir took us about 2.5 hours, very very far and tired. But all tireness gone after we see the nice lake scenery. The lake scenery is similar like Lake Toba in Indonesia.

1) Tasik Kenyir

Terengganu, Part 3, Kedai Kopi Hai Peng

This is a Kopitiam at Kemaman-Chukai you must not miss. Their specialty is Hainanese coffee, roti kahwin and and a variety of local foods. You will be surprise their customers are from all walks of life. But the price they sell here is quite similar to KL's price, not really cheap but good for value. This shop is just about 20mins drive from Awana Kijal Resort, very convenience if you staying at this resort.

1) Bungalow shop house

2) A variety of local foods place at front portion of the shop. You can just pick up whatever items you like to eat from here.

3) You must try this Nasi Dagang, very nice. Rememer to add the tuna curry sauce which place at center. I dont know there was curry sauce to be added, I just eat plain but the taste still good.

4) Hainanese coffee and roti Paun ( similar to roti kahwin, spread butter with kaya). The bread is very nice, not too dry and fresh, my daughter like it so much.

5) Fried Mee Hoon, plain but yet delicious.

6) My favorite Nasi Lemak, if they use banana leaf to pack, it would be better.

7) I'm not really know how to pronounce this, remember something like " Tapai".
Very special taste, like sweet wine. The leaf they use to pack is special too, Rubber tree leaf.

8) I like this Rooster basket very much.

9) The shop is full of peoples especially during morning.

Terengganu, Part 2, Stuffed crabs

A visiti to Terengganu Kemaman-Chukai around, you should not miss the chance to try the specialty of this area: stuffed crabs.
This dish is made of a mixture of crabmeat, onions and parsley that are packed into a large emptied crab shell. The stuffed shell is then deep-fried (with egg ) or bake (with cheese). I take this opportunity to try stuffed crab at this restaurant, the taste is ok but it would be better if they fry it on the spot but not fry first and served later, not hot enough.
Nancy and Twister, you may want to try this recipe, very simple but yet a bit tedious as you need to take out fresh crab meat.

Sorry for my late reply, I was away for vacation to Trengganu, will update some photos in next update.
Here is the recipe and unable to provide actual measurements as I was simply cook and agak-agak only:-

2 long brinjals
salt
pepper
cooking oil
1 shallot, peeled and sliced
1 red chilli, sliced to small pieces
2 limes, extract juice
dark soy sauce
light soy sauce
sugar
cornflour
water

Steps:-
1) Cut brinjal into thin slice about 1cm. Season with salt and pepper.
2) Deep fry the brinjal over a medium flame until it turns golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
3) Heat oil and saute the shallot and chilli for 1 minute. Mix together the water, lime juice, soy sauce, sugar and add cornflour to get slight thickening sauce.
4) Pour over cooked brinjals and serve ( with rice is the best).

Vietnam Rice Paper

Yesterday I prepared a difference way of dinner style, we didnt eat the usual rice but eat rice paper instead. This rice paper was bought during my visit to Vietnam few months ago. I use one bird of kampung chicken to cook two difference dishes, Chinese herb soup and cut chicken. We use rice paper to wrap with chicken and add a lot of Salad & Basil (from my garden), at the same time we also enjoy the Chinese herb soup, one stone kills two birds...
This dish is very refreshing and healthy.

Roti Jala, Chicken and Potato Curry

The other day, when I went thru the " FLAVOURS" cooking magazine, noticed this recipe and immediately thinking to have a try. I even called my Malay friend to check how they prepare it, the way they prepare and the way shown in magazine are totally difference, anyway I follow my friend's way. It was not an easy way to prepare the Roti Jala, after few tried and adjustment (but I forgot to take note the new measurement), then only I managed to get a good shape of Roti Jala. To prepare this dish is quite tedious....but very delicious...

Sarawak Mee Kolok

I have been thinking to cook Mee Kolok ( a common noodle dish in Sarawak) long time ago, but here I can't get a good noodle which similar to the Sarawak Mee Kolok noodle. The noodles which sell in wet market here are very common types such as yellow noodle, pan mee, & etc. Yesterday I noticed a type of noodle which sell in Tesco are very similar to Mee Kolok noodle, the name of the noodle called as Ramen noodle (not able to show you, forgot to take photo). Immediately I use this noodle to cook Mee Kolok, wah, this is the noodle that I have been looking for, can be compete with actual Mee Kolok noodle.
